Both platforms displace dedicated video-wall hardware with software, but they make opposite choices on cloud, licensing, and deployment posture. This page lays out the differences honestly — including where Userful is the better fit.
What Userful does
Userful Infinity Platform is a cloud-managed AV-over-IP system that streams sources to per-display uClient endpoints (webOS / Tizen / Android). It is SOC 2 Type II certified and integrates deeply with operations stacks — Splunk Enterprise Security, Genetec Security Center, Everbridge CEM, Microsoft Azure IoT Edge. Userful recently positioned itself as an "operations awareness platform" rather than a video wall — signalling the move into adjacent SOC and situation-room workflows.
Where Craft Wall is different
- On-prem only. Craft Wall runs on a single commodity Linux server inside your perimeter. No cloud control plane, no SaaS telemetry leaving your network. For КИИ / NIS2 / KRITIS the difference is categorical, not stylistic.
- Perpetual licence. One-time per-canvas + per-source fee. Userful is a per-display-per-month subscription that compounds: at $20–$50/display/month over 5 years, a 12-display NOC wall costs roughly $14k–$36k just in subscription.
- Browser-based control out of the box. No uClient endpoints to provision, no per-display OS updates to manage. Operators connect from any device with a browser.
- Self-healing sources. Failed RTSP/NDI/HDMI streams recover in seconds without operator action; this is built into the source pipeline, not a SLA promise.

When Userful is the better fit
Multi-site corporate digital signage with a central IT team that already lives in a cloud admin model and wants integrations with Splunk / Genetec out of the box. Userful's cloud control is genuinely convenient when you have 50 sites and zero on-site operators.
When Craft Wall is the better fit
Critical-infrastructure NOC, SOC, situation rooms, broadcast galleries, government control centres — anywhere air-gap matters, where a 5-year TCO calculation matters more than monthly opex, or where adding sources should not require a sales call.
