Craft Wall vs RGB Spectrum Galileo and Zio 4000

Last updated: 2026-05-13 · RGB Spectrum Galileo / Zio · Alameda, California, USA

Vendor-published comparison. Competitor data sourced from public marketing materials and reseller listings (last verified: 2026-05-13). Corrections welcomed at support@craftwall.pro.

RGB Spectrum is a long-time Tier 1 control- room hardware vendor (defence, government, public safety, mission-critical EOC). Their Galileo Display Processor went End-of-Life on 31 December 2025, with Zio 4000 named as the successor on rgb.com. That date forces every Galileo site into a refresh decision in 2026 — and that decision is where Craft Wall enters the conversation.

What RGB Spectrum sells

Two product lines that buyers most often compare against software walls: the Galileo Display Processor (the EOL platform) and the new Zio 4000 family, an AV-over-IP wall processor with XtendPoint KVM integration, web-native Zio GUI, H.264 / H.265 / VP9 source support, and explicit TAA / BAA compliance language for US federal procurement. Public marketing tagline: "Better Decisions. Faster."

The Galileo EOL window

Per RGB Spectrum's official support page, "This product was EOL on Dec 31, 2025. The Zio 4000 Display Processor is the successor to the Galileo Display Processor." For existing sites that means: support and spare-parts windows close, firmware updates stop, and any extension of the deployment becomes an RFP for new hardware. That is the natural moment to ask whether the next decade of the wall has to live on proprietary silicon at all.

Where Craft Wall is different

  • Hardware-agnostic Linux. Craft Wall installs on any modern x86 server. There is no proprietary chassis, no NDAA-specific BOM, no spare cards to keep on a shelf.
  • One-time licence vs hardware refresh cycles. €2,500 perpetual for the wall software vs an RFP-driven hardware refresh every 5-7 years.
  • Source mix in software. NDI, RTSP, KVM, HTML5 captured by the same engine — without per-codec input modules.
  • On-prem only. No cloud telemetry leaves the site by default, which matters for the same buyer profile that picks RGB Spectrum.

Where RGB Spectrum is still the better fit

  • Tenders that explicitly call out TAA / BAA compliance with a documented chain of custody for every component — Zio 4000 has that language baked into public marketing.
  • Workflows with deeply integrated XtendPoint KVM endpoints where the organisation has already standardised on RGB Spectrum's matrix.
  • Highly regulated environments where the buyer needs the entire stack from one US-headquartered vendor with a multi- decade track record in defence.

Migration considerations

Galileo-to-Craft-Wall is a software-first cut-over: keep the existing displays and cabling, retire the Galileo chassis, place a Linux server in the rack, capture the existing sources as NDI / RTSP, recreate the layouts in the Craft Wall scene editor. Sites that have already invested in XtendPoint KVM matrices often keep them and let Craft Wall ingest the KVM-encoded IP streams.

One thing to verify before the RFP

Read the actual TAA / BAA language in the tender. If the wording requires a US-built wall-processor chassis, Zio 4000 wins on compliance grounds alone. If the wording requires only that software components are sourced from compliant jurisdictions, Craft Wall on a TAA-compliant server can satisfy the same clause at a fraction of the BOM.
